IF ALL THE WORLD WERE BLIND

Image
If All The World Were Blind If all the world were blind, How would you make yourself be seen? Would you shine your light so brightly, Or try to rule like a queen? Of all the things to ponder, I think  that’s  what matters most. Would you proudly stand up for others, Or choose to fade out like a ghost? Would you live life to the fullest, Or just be an empty shell? Would your scent be intoxicating, Or in fact, would it repel? Would your words be kind and honest, Or sharpened like a knife? Would you save someone who’s drowning, Or let them forfeit their own life? Would you choose the path that’s easy, Or the one that asks for more? Would you open up your heart, Or keep it locked behind a door? When no one’s watching closely, No applause. No guiding sign. Would you choose to be the healing light, Or walk the straight and narrow line? Because sight was never vision, And crowns don’t make you seen. It’s in the way that you treat others, That truly proves that you’re a quee...

THE THRILL OF A LIE

Image
The Thrill Of A Lie It’s easy to get lost In the thrill of their lies The kind we’ve heard whispered From all the same guys But the thing about lies Is one day they unravel Lost in the dust With your tears in the gravel You want to believe You could live this dream life Enchanted by thoughts Of becoming their wife I know we’ve all done it Hell, I’m probably the worst We fall for each line Of the lies they’ve rehearsed Oh, trust and believe That I’ve been there before Believing their lies Stacked so high at my door I just hope you remember That it’s  YOU  that’s the gem Don’t get caught in their snares Or the traps set by them And I hope you don’t think I trash talk only guys I know all too well How we women spread lies But this life we’re all craving We can start on our own We don’t need someone else To share what we’ve grown And no I’m not saying That your heart should stay numb But let’s all plant these seeds And see what we’ll become I know life’s a journey That can ...

HER DOWNWARD SPIRAL

Image
Her Downward Spiral Have you ever stopped to wonder That it’s not  just your heart that’s broke Your choices are much louder  Than the words that you have spoke Now you’re sinking deeper  With every line of coke you hit Shooting up your dope Till both your mind and veins are split You’ve started falling faster  Down into that rabbit hole You need to find your own way out  Or you might lose your soul I’ve loved you since the day we met,  When you first stole my breath But this path that you’re now walking down,  Will only lead to death For one last time, I’m reaching out,  Please just grab my hand I can’t watch you as you spiral,  Forever lost in that quicksand If you decide to pick addiction,  Then it’s your loved ones who will lose It might be a hard decision,  But it’s you that has to choose Everyone of us unravels,  And over time our edges fray It’s how we choose to heal  That gets some lost along the way So Go...

I WILL RISE

Image
I Will Rise  The silence feels heavier than diamond or stone, A sad, hollow echo where love had once shone. The nights are still long, and my tears always fall, And grief paints its shadows across every wall. Yet in this ever aching night, A flicker glows. A softer light. For sorrow, though it bends my frame, Cannot erase love’s steady flame. The heart remembers, fierce and true, The bond that time cannot undo. Though loss has carved its ruthless scar, It shows me just how strong we are. So let me grieve, but let me grow, Through shattered ground new roots still show. And when tomorrow calls my name, I’ll rise again. Though not the same. For hope is born where pain resides, And healing blooms where love abides. The dark may linger, but I see… A brighter day still waits for me. Original Poetry Written By Eryn Dunbar Copyright 11.8.2025

BACK IN THE DAY

Image
Canva AI Image BACK IN THE DAY Describe a risk you took that you do not regret. (Poetry Prompt) WordPress There once was a time when I’d take risks. Back in the day of floppy disks. I wasn’t scared and I felt free. To take a risk willingly. But nowadays I am numb. Not quite sure what I’ve become. Where’s the girl that I once was? Who loved to chase an adrenaline buzz! She’s not here. I’m someone new. Molded by all that I’ve been through. Yes, I’ve changed but I’m still me. And I’d risk it all to be happy! BENEATH THE SKIES

Image
Beneath The Skies When shadows fall and doubts arise, And dreams seem lost beneath the skies, There burns a flame, though small and shy, A spark of strength that will not die. Through weary roads and heavy rain, We walk with hearts that bear the strain. But every step, though slow or steep, Is proof of courage buried deep. The night may whisper tales of fear, Yet morning’s promise draws us near. With every dawn, a brand new chance. A song of hope, a life to dance. So lift your chin, let silence sing, The world still turns, and hearts still spring. You are the light the dark can’t steal, A soul that rises, dares to heal. The cracks you’ve earned from battles fought, Are lines where light pours through each thought. You’ve weathered storms, you’ve felt the flame. And still, you rise, still speak your name. The mountain bowed but did not break. Your spirit's strong for others’ sake. And now it’s time… you’re not alone. This path you walk's not paved in stone. Not every hero wear...

BUILT FROM GRACE

Image
Built From Grace When shadows stretch across the way, And skies forget the light of day. Still in your chest, a spark remains. A silent strength through losses, gains. It whispers,  “Rise, though winds may roar, You’ve crossed dark seas, and you’ll cross more.” Each trial carved a deeper grace. Each scar a map, each tear a trace. You are the flame that won’t burn out. The steady heart, the whispered shout, That says,  “I’m here. I’m not yet done. There’s more to climb, I’ve just begun.” The road ahead may twist and bend, But hope walks with you like a friend. And when your knees begin to shake, Your soul will rise for healing’s sake. Breathe deep, sweet soul. You’ve come so far. You’re made up of the brightest star. The storm has passed, the skies are clear. You’re not alone. You’re loved. You’re  here . So hold this truth through every tide: The light you seek is held inside. And even in your darkest place... You're made of strength and built from grace. Poetry Written B...

MY HEALING LIGHT

Image
My Healing Light My light is seen across the veil It burns so bright it leaves a trail My energy will pull you in Especially when the veil is thin I’ll cleanse your wounds and I’ll heal your pain Give you strength when yours starts to wane It’s my life’s purpose and my vision To help you with your indecision But helping you, helps me too A healing salve for all I’ve been through So let me in when I’m at your heart’s door Because I’m the light you’ve been looking for Original Poetry Written By Eryn Dunbar Copyright (c) 6.21.2025

BY YOUR SIDE

Image
Canva AI IMage By Your Side You got some bad news. Let me hold your hand. No matter what, By your side I will stand. I want you to know, That I’m here for you. Together, we’ve got this. We’ll get you through. We’re wading through waves. In an ocean, so deep. But I’ll stay by your side. That’s the promise I’ll keep. I won’t turn my back. I won’t walk away. No matter what happens, I’ll never stray. You got some bad news. Your heart's feeling broken. So I hold you close. And no words are spoken. If I could only, Make you finally see. You’ve found a best friend. You get all of me. I’ll always be here. We’re bonded for life. No matter the problem. No matter the strife. So you got some bad news. But I’m by your side. I’ve wiped away all, The tears you have cried. I’ll do my best, To help you stay strong. I’ll work on a strategy, To fix what went wrong. But together we’ll make it. I solemnly swear. For we’re stronger together. In this love that we share. Original Poetry Written By Eryn Du...

FROM JUST AN EMBER

Image
From Just An Ember I let you in My walls came down And then you tore me To the ground I realize now It was too quick I should’ve done it Brick by Brick But lesson learned And heart protected You know the one.. That you rejected But look at me I’m proud to say That I recovered In just one day I’ve refocused And I’m more grounded With an inner peace I’m surrounded Looking inward Heart and mind My life’s purpose I did find I’m meant to write My words can heal So I will share All that I feel And my mistakes Will help you learn That you already Brightly burn Guard your heart But do remember You created fire From just an ember Original Poetry Written By Eryn Dunbar Copyright (c) 6.22.2025

Mask And Mirrors - A Poem By Adam Akers

"Masks and Mirrors"   Behind the façade of a functioning life, A storm rages, a war that cuts like a knife. Overthinking, a maze with no escape, A mind that dissects each thought, each ache. In the mirror, a reflection stares, A stranger's eyes, with shadows that glare. The weight of emotions, a burden to bear, A heart that beats, yet feels like stone, with care. The world outside moves, unaware, Of the battles fought, the tears that fall like rain. But in the silence, I scream, I cry, A voice that's muffled, lost in the haze of my mind. In this darkness, I search for a light, A beacon to guide me through the endless night. A glimmer of hope, a chance to break free, From the chains of thoughts that bind me. My surroundings mirror my inner state, A room once tidy, now cluttered and late. The weight of my body, heavy as lead, My mind a whirlwind, my thoughts unsaid. In relationships, a delicate dance, A balance between truth and a masked trance. I yearn for connection, ...

IF ONLY YOU SAW IT

Image
Canva AI Image If Only You Saw It I wish you could see yourself through my eyes. How you light up a room. How you mesmerize. If only you'd see, what I see myself. Then maybe you’d be less hard on yourself. Because never before have I witnessed such glow. If only you saw it, your confidence might show. For all of your beauty begins on the inside. That is where you will find that your power resides. If only you saw it. What the world and I see. Then maybe, Just Maybe, you’d finally be free. For YOU, my sweet friend deserve to live happily!
