IF ALL THE WORLD WERE BLIND

Image
If All The World Were Blind If all the world were blind, How would you make yourself be seen? Would you shine your light so brightly, Or try to rule like a queen? Of all the things to ponder, I think  that’s  what matters most. Would you proudly stand up for others, Or choose to fade out like a ghost? Would you live life to the fullest, Or just be an empty shell? Would your scent be intoxicating, Or in fact, would it repel? Would your words be kind and honest, Or sharpened like a knife? Would you save someone who’s drowning, Or let them forfeit their own life? Would you choose the path that’s easy, Or the one that asks for more? Would you open up your heart, Or keep it locked behind a door? When no one’s watching closely, No applause. No guiding sign. Would you choose to be the healing light, Or walk the straight and narrow line? Because sight was never vision, And crowns don’t make you seen. It’s in the way that you treat others, That truly proves that you’re a quee...

A LOVE WORTH WRITING ABOUT

Image
A Love Worth Writing About I don’t want to be someone's short story,  in a tale they tell to all their friends. I want to  live  in every chapter,  in a book that  never  ends. I want to be the kind of woman,  that my partner can’t resist. And deep inside I know,  this type of love has to exist. I want a love that chooses me,  in both the silence and the noise. In all life’s messy moments,  and not just when there’s grace or poise. A love that will not fade away,  when our passion starts to slow. But deepens with the years we share,  and all the ways we grow. I want a hand to hold at night,  when words are hard to find. A heart that stays committed,  even when the world’s unkind. Not fairytale perfection,  or a picture-perfect view. But someone who will keep choosing me,  the way I choose them too. For love isn’t just a longing,  or a spark that we defend. It’s waking up and writing us, Again … a...

THE THRILL OF A LIE

Image
The Thrill Of A Lie It’s easy to get lost In the thrill of their lies The kind we’ve heard whispered From all the same guys But the thing about lies Is one day they unravel Lost in the dust With your tears in the gravel You want to believe You could live this dream life Enchanted by thoughts Of becoming their wife I know we’ve all done it Hell, I’m probably the worst We fall for each line Of the lies they’ve rehearsed Oh, trust and believe That I’ve been there before Believing their lies Stacked so high at my door I just hope you remember That it’s  YOU  that’s the gem Don’t get caught in their snares Or the traps set by them And I hope you don’t think I trash talk only guys I know all too well How we women spread lies But this life we’re all craving We can start on our own We don’t need someone else To share what we’ve grown And no I’m not saying That your heart should stay numb But let’s all plant these seeds And see what we’ll become I know life’s a journey That can ...

HER DOWNWARD SPIRAL

Image
Her Downward Spiral Have you ever stopped to wonder That it’s not  just your heart that’s broke Your choices are much louder  Than the words that you have spoke Now you’re sinking deeper  With every line of coke you hit Shooting up your dope Till both your mind and veins are split You’ve started falling faster  Down into that rabbit hole You need to find your own way out  Or you might lose your soul I’ve loved you since the day we met,  When you first stole my breath But this path that you’re now walking down,  Will only lead to death For one last time, I’m reaching out,  Please just grab my hand I can’t watch you as you spiral,  Forever lost in that quicksand If you decide to pick addiction,  Then it’s your loved ones who will lose It might be a hard decision,  But it’s you that has to choose Everyone of us unravels,  And over time our edges fray It’s how we choose to heal  That gets some lost along the way So Go...

I WILL RISE

Image
I Will Rise  The silence feels heavier than diamond or stone, A sad, hollow echo where love had once shone. The nights are still long, and my tears always fall, And grief paints its shadows across every wall. Yet in this ever aching night, A flicker glows. A softer light. For sorrow, though it bends my frame, Cannot erase love’s steady flame. The heart remembers, fierce and true, The bond that time cannot undo. Though loss has carved its ruthless scar, It shows me just how strong we are. So let me grieve, but let me grow, Through shattered ground new roots still show. And when tomorrow calls my name, I’ll rise again. Though not the same. For hope is born where pain resides, And healing blooms where love abides. The dark may linger, but I see… A brighter day still waits for me. Original Poetry Written By Eryn Dunbar Copyright 11.8.2025

DANCING WITH YOUR GHOST

Image
Dancing With Your Ghost The pain I feel’s unbearable As I mourn my dearest friend But I’ll keep dancing with your ghost Until the day we meet again You were more than just my friend You were my other half The one who always found a way To make me belly laugh It never seemed to matter All the miles in between In my eyes you were a hero And to you, I was a queen So yes, I’ll keep on dancing With my arms around your ghost And until that day we meet again Each night, to you… I’ll toast Original Poetry Written By Eryn Dunbar Copyright (c) 11.21.2025

THE SCENT OF US

Image
The Scent of Us My pain is my perfume, You wear grief like cologne. The fragrance surrounds us, Each scent stands alone. We linger in silence, Our sorrows entwine, Yet even with distance, Your ache mirrors mine. The air feels familiar… A blend of regret. The ghosts of our losses, We cannot forget. Still I breathe you in softly, Through sorrow and rain. For even in heartache, There’s beauty in pain. But time is a cleanser, A wind through the years. It carries our anguish, It softens our tears. And maybe one morning, When memories' fade, We’ll walk through the sunlight, No longer afraid. For pain is just proof, That love had its day. And the scent of our story, Will never decay.
