A KING AND HIS QUEEN

Why is it so hard for me to let you in?

When all you want to be to me is a gentleman.

Trying to tear down all the walls I have in place.

Focused on the image of your beautiful face.

Why is it such a challenge for me to let go?

You said you're even willing to take things slow.

I promise, I'll keep trying. Trying for us.

Trying not to argue, quarrel or fuss.

Attempting to always make us work.

Promise when we do fight, I won't be a big jerk.

I guess I'm finally willing, if you know what I mean.

Finally willing to be a King and his Queen.

This has a lot of emotions in this. I am taken back by the reality of a personal struggle. For I know I have experienced this from a man’s position. Really though it does apply to any person in general. Such a nice poem Eryn……Alan

Thanks, Alan. As we have since discussed this poem, you know how I felt about it and that I definitely don't think it's one of my best. But I do definitely appreciate you and your support! ❤️❤️❤️

Amazing poem as always! I identified with it, I have tall and thick walls around me, so I know it takes time to take them down 😕

Thank you, Jessica! Yes, sometimes my walls are so tall and thick that I can't even get passed them myself, I swear!
