Late In The Evening - A Poem By: Alan Mack

Late in the evening, when I look up to the heavens.

I see it's vastness and wonder,

What is my part to play, I ponder.

Is there some important meaning for why I am here?

As I look around and see, silhouettes of buildings and fences.

Fireflies flashing their little lights.

The deer grunting in the darkness.

Oh, there goes an owl, flying from tree to tree.

I say to myself, does it really matter?

When I see all of these.

For the stars and planets above,

The fireflies, deer and the owl.

All play their part together.

Without a wonder or care.

What greater part could I have,

For I to, in all this wonder I get to share.

Nicely written, nicely reminds me how insignificant alone one is in the big picture but together just as important as the big picture

Right on J.J. I have had many near death experiences. I ultimately have come to really appreciate more and more the little things like this….as well as how vast things are…..Alan 😊

Tip my hat for embracing the struggle and coming out on top bruises, scars and all
