PEDESTAL
Pedestal
People always put me on a pedestal
before we've even met.
And I can never balance
I fall and live with that regret.
Why do they do that
When we haven't even dated.
hell we've never met face to face
But this picture you’ve created.
How am I supposed to live up to
the image in your mind?
The real me gets overlooked
the real me left behind.
If you could only value me
accept me for myself.
Instead of this likeness of me
that you put upon your shelf.
Then maybe, just maybe
we’d have half a chance.
To end up together
wrapped up in this romance.
