A QUESTION OF DESTINY

A Question Of Destiny

Sometimes I feel like my moves are preset.
Like, am I doing something that I'll live to regret?

Simon Says, now move to your right.
This has caused me many a sleepless night.

I don’t know. And maybe I’m wrong.
It’s like singing a verse, before they've played your song.

Maybe not a good example in this particular instance.
But I wonder.. is it fate, or just coincidence?

Am I making my own choices, or are they already made?
Building my own dreams, or are stones already laid?

I’m at my wits end. I’m at a loss.
Am I the one in charge, or do I have a boss?

These are my thoughts that at night take ahold.
With no answers forthcoming, I must watch it unfold.

Is it predestined or do I have a choice?
Am I speaking the words but not in my voice?

So if you have an explanation please share it with me.
Just get me out of my head.. with my crazy thoughts on destiny!

Hey Eryn, your poem really got to me—it’s like you pulled the lid off that messy tug-of-war between feeling like I’m driving my life and wondering if the wheel’s already locked in place. The way you mix simple stuff like Simon Says and jumping the gun on a song with those huge “what’s it all about” questions feels so real, like I’m right there with you. That line, “Am I making my own choices, or are they already made? that’s the kind of thought that keeps me staring at the ceiling at night. The rhythm’s got this flow that drags me along, like I’m stuck in your head too, spinning with you. It’s raw, it’s honest, and I love how you don’t fake some big answer just throw out that desperate “get me out of here” vibe. Seriously, it’s powerful

Shoot. I wish I had the answer to this question. If I did, I would share it with you, 100%! Maybe someone will comment with their own take on this. And we will be enlightened. ♥️

There is no easy answer and we all have that same feeling at some point. Some just have it more often than not. I've learned to just make the best decision I can and not doubt myself. If I make a mistake, learn from it and move on. If I get it right, think about how I reached my decision and if I can learn anything to repeat it with the next issue. It's works for me pretty well. If you solve this one, you can solve a problem for most of the population. You described it very well though. Exactly how it feels when it happens.

Like there's no one route to getting to work or the grocery store, the destination is the same. Then destiny is happiness along the way we encounter wrong ppl that could be the right one with cooperation growing together. When two ppl are the right person GPS ( God's Presence Speaks) you've arrived at your destination. Your poems are so deeply beautiful even when deeply painful it's a wonderful exciting time when we're young having time in

You have the right way of thinking on this, Melvin. Even if we have a path that is predestined for each of us, I think we still get to choose how we get there. Wrong turns and all. ❤️

I love your belief and faith, JJ. And this is perfectly worded. I definitely believe that we have the gift to make our own choices but the more I think about it, the more I might be agreeing with you. That the outcome might be out of our hands, but the roads we take to get there are ours to drive on freely.❤️
