I'M SO IN LOVE WITH YOU
I’m So In Love With You
I don’t want to be second fiddle
I’m not okay being number two
But I can’t seem to walk away
Because I’m so in love with you
You call me when you’re bored
When you have nothing else to do
And I stupidly answer the phone
Because I’m so in love with you
You tell me about your breakups
How you and her are through
And I hang on every word
Because I’m so in love with you
You tell me that you love me
But your words do not ring true
But I believe them anyway
Because I’m so in love with you
I wish we’d never met
That you were someone I never knew
But I just can’t seem to walk away
Because I’m forever in love with you

She's tired of being the backup plan yet can't seem to break free because her love is too deep.
Eryn only hears from this person when they're bored or have nothing better to do, highlighting a one-sided relationship where she's always ready to answer, despite knowing better.
She hangs on every word of the other's breakups, hoping against hope that this time it'll be different.
There's a stark realization that the 'I love You's' might not be genuine, but she chooses hope over reality.
Wishing she had never met this person, Eryn acknowledges her inability to walk away, bound by love that won't let go.
This poem resonates with anyone who's ever loved more than they were loved in return. It's a poignant reminder of how love can blind us, keep us waiting, and sometimes, leave us wishing for an alternate reality where we never fell at all.
