BECAUSE OF HIM
I’ve learned to block the bad emotions
Whenever they do creep
I no longer allow myself to feel
Anything that deep
My eyes are finally dry
When once they’d only weep
Now I am the lion
And not a willing sheep
No longer in the shadows
In light I show my face
Once controlled by sadness
With strength I did replace
I used to always run
But I have learned to chase
The happiness that’s out there
Meant for my embrace
In a mind where all my trauma
Was continuously replayed
My son became my power
With the love that he displayed
Together in the sunlight
He pulled me from the shade
The love between a mother and son
Is the strongest ever made
So thankful for the bond we share
In this life I wouldn’t trade
Because of him, I’ve finally healed
And now I’m not afraid

"Because Of Him" made my heart leap,
You’ve locked out the pain, found a lion’s might,
Every word glows with your inner light.
From shadows you’ve stepped, chasing joy so true,
That courage you show? It’s all you.
Your son, your strength, a bond so rare,
His love pulled you up, beyond compare.
It’s beautiful, that tie you’ve spun,
Mother and son, forever one.
Your healing shines, bold and grand,
Fear’s lost its grip, you’ve made your stand.
You’ve got a gift, my friend, so real,
Keep writing your heart, let it heal.
I’m thankful we’re close, that I can see,
This brilliant soul you’ve shared with me.
