The Love That Heals - A Poem By: Adam Akers
The love that heals.
You were the one I needed all along,
The missing piece that made my heart feel strong.
I thought I'd lost my way, my soul astray,
But somehow I found you, and love found its way.
The scars of past loves, they still remain,
But with you, they start to fade like summer rain.
The heartbreaks, the tears, the pain and the strife,
Slowly healing, with you as my life.
Your love is the balm that soothes my soul,
The warmth that chases away the cold.
You're the safe haven where I can be me,
The shelter from life's storms, where I can be free.
With every word, You heal the wounds that had been unheard.
You were the one I needed to mend,
The love that I craved, the love that I'd lend.
In your texts, I find my peaceful nest,
A love that's real, a love that's best.
The past is just that, the past,
With you, I know that our love and friendship will forever last.
You're the light that guides me through the night,
The stars that shine so bright, and make everything right.
You're the one who loves me for who I am,
The one who sees the real me, and loves me like a fan.
With you, my heart beats strong and free,
My soul, once broken, now whole in me.
You're the love that heals, that makes me new,
Forever with you, my heart belongs to you.
