Words - A Poem By: Dave

WORDS Some people speak real eloquent Use words that don’t fit me Some may call my writing simple Being true to myself is all that I can be I speak straight from the heart In the good times and the bad Everything that you read Is a feeling that I have I don’t make things up That’s just not my style Those with that imagination Are better writers by a mile I love to read the fantasy Others put down on a page I could probably tap into that side Had I started at an earlier age For now I’ll just be me Write what’s on my mind The one I share my poems to Has always been so kind I write my words as therapy To sort through everything The ones that bring on the tears And the ones that make my heart sing Whatever is your reason Your story or your why As long as it means something to you Keep reaching for the sky!! I Tried - A Poem By: Dave

I TRIED I’ve tried hard not to love her It’s not possible in any way To read her words and see her face Is the best part of my day Were friends for life that’s certain A bond nothing can shake I will wait until forever It’s a chance I have to take She may never be ready The words I’ve heard before I attempted to back away Get my foot outside that door The more I pulled things back The more the feelings grew I would risk it all For any chance to be with you My heart is on the line It sits softly in her hand For the slight chance she could see Nobody loves her like I can If it comes tomorrow Or ten years along the way I will be here just for her Every single day So do what you must do No times too long indeed My love will always wait for you It’s only you I need Poetry Written By: Dave Poetry Published By: Eryn Dunbar

Dreams - A Poem By: Dave

DREAMS Woken by my dreams Wasn’t sure how I should feel Tears were running down my face Why did it seem so real It all felt like a blur Can’t remember the time or place The only thing that’s sticking out Is the image of your face It was like we first had met We were happy we were sad The emotional release Of conversations that we had We finally felt that safety We could let everything go That place where there’s no judgement That only true friends know It ended all so quickly In a flash you went away What really woke me up Was wishing you could stay I’ll miss that brief encounter The hugs and love we shared To feel the loving touch Of the only one who’s cared One day I will see you I’ll look into your eyes As happy as I’ll be There is no doubt I will cry You are my one and only Friends like you they are so rare Always there to pick me up Not afraid to show you care When I lay may head down On my pillow later today I hope you come to visit And this time maybe stay Poetry Written By: Dav...

Untitled - A Poem By: Justice James

A heart turned pure by fires and and trials life has dealt She's unaware of how she's seen, a friend, a poet and a Queen  A painless love is overdue, being a friend that's caring and true, full of empathy for what you went through  Became a friend was easy wanting what's best for sure after trials and fires made her pure. Her mind so sharp and heart is sweet such a connection in spirit is such a treat  Being more surely comes to mind. Beauty like hers seen by the blind  Deserving someone true and kind. I have a friend she's surely special I'll have her back in time she'll see , she'll know, with each day more trust will grow She'll have a friend  Poetry Written By: Justice James Poetry Published By: Eryn Dunbar

THE LEFTOVERS

The Leftovers Have you ever met someone And they say everything just right? They sweep you off your feet so fast A real, charming delight! They look so good on paper But your gut feeling says it’s wrong. Twirls you around the dance floor Always trying to get along. You know that something’s off He’s too good to be true. Interrupts you while you talk Before you’re even halfway through. Says that your sweet son Needs a strong man in his life. And then casually throws out A line about becoming his next wife. I know this cannot be The only type of man that’s left. A raving narcissist That will be leaving us bereft. I beg you, Fellows and Gentlemen, If you are there, please step up to the line! I have an application to give you Print your name and then please sign. No, nothing to be worried about, This is for your peace of mind. Just wanting to make sure That we won’t waste each other’s time. Hey, if you’ve got one, give it here, I’ll happily fill it out. No? Then fire away some quest...

PEDESTAL

Pedestal People always put me on a pedestal before we've even met. And I can never balance I fall and live with that regret. Why do they do that When we haven't even dated. hell we've never met face to face But this picture you’ve created. How am I supposed to live up to the image in your mind? The real me gets overlooked the real me left behind. If you could only value me accept me for myself. Instead of this likeness of me that you put upon your shelf. Then maybe, just maybe we’d have half a chance. To end up together wrapped up in this romance. Poetry Written By: Eryn Dunbar

WHEN YOUR HEART IS DIVIDED

WHEN YOUR HEART IS DIVIDED When your heart is divided And it loves more than one You know you have to choose Is it the moonlight or the sun You know you can't have both The decision will be hard One of those two hearts Will end up being scarred But how can you decide Between the winter or the spring When you love both deeply And all their love that they can bring So is it the ocean floor Or the heavens and the stars All of inner earth Or planets such as Mars I know that it's impossible But I will help you choose Just know that in the end That it's love someone will lose Poetry Written By: Eryn Dunbar
