WHY

An Original Poem By

Do you ever ask yourself the question of why?
Why do it again? When each time you cry?
Why do you always end up with that guy?
Why? When they all have that smile that’s wry?
Why even bother to attempt a retry?
Why put yourself out there? They all seem to lie?
Why? When it always end in goodbye?
So I’ve finally stopped asking. The question of why.

Eryn expresses frustration and disillusionment with repeated negative experiences in relationships in the poem.

She questions why she continues to engage in romantic endeavors when each attempt leads to sadness ("each time you cry").

Eryn ponders why she repeatedly chooses partners who seem insincere or untrustworthy ("that smile that’s wry," "they all seem to lie").

There's a recurring theme of disappointment as her relationships inevitably end ("it always end in goodbye").

Ultimately, Eryn decides to stop questioning ("stopped asking") why she keeps going through this cycle, suggesting a resolve to either accept the situation or to move on from such patterns.

This poem captures Eryn's emotional exhaustion from cyclical heartbreak and her contemplation of giving up on seeking answers or solutions to these patterns in love.

Try not to question my decisions when they were thought out, but I do find myself often asking why when I've changed my behavior and the outcome was same or worse.

It is frustrating and a pattern that I can't seem to break. My solution to the problem is to just stop dating. Which is what I have done. Thanks, Zeus.

I have come to the conclusion that I am the problem.
