WATERFALLS

Waterfalls

You see a blank canvas.
While I see bare walls.
Where I see leaky faucets.
You see waterfalls.

You hear a dad joke.
And laugh throughout the day.
Where I just roll my eyes.
Shake my head and walk away.

They say opposites attract.
You’re the Yin and I’m the Yang.
I just can’t get enough.
I circle back. A boomerang.

Through your eyes I see the world.
In such a different light.
It’s like my eyes were closed.
And you gave me back my sight.

I can’t imagine life.
Without you by my side.
You’ve wiped away my pain.
And all the tears I’ve cried.

As far as I’m concerned.
We’ll always be together.
So there’s something I must ask.
Will you marry me forever?

Eryn, your poem Waterfalls is stunning. The contrast between perspectives, like blank canvas versus bare walls or leaky faucets versus waterfalls, is vivid and heartfelt. It beautifully captures how love shifts the way we see the world, blending humor, tenderness, and deep connection. The journey from playful differences to a profound commitment feels so genuine and touching. Your words create a powerful image of a love that transforms and heals. Incredible work.
