WHERE MOONLIT SECRETS BIDE (Myths and Legends Series) Part Three

Where Moonlit Secrets Bide

Don’t follow music through the woods,
No matter how it sings.
For not all creatures dressed in light
Are harmless, gentle things.

The fae were never innocent,
Though stories softened truth.
They traded favors steeped in charm
To steal away your youth.

They danced beneath the moonlit boughs
With laughter sharp as knives,
And stole the names from weary souls
To claim their mortal lives.

They offered fruit like rubied wine,
With lips both pale and red,
But one small bite could bind you there
To realms beneath the dead.

So if branches start to whisper
And the woods grow deathly still,
Do not eat what’s offered
No matter how they thrill.

For the fae love pretty things
And humans love to roam…
But once they steal your true name,
You’ll never find your home.

You should question every legend
That history casts aside…
For magic still walks quietly
Where moonlit secrets bide.

I just wanted to tell you myself how much I love your poem. "Don’t Follow Music Through the Woods” is genuinely beautiful. It feels like a real old fairy-tale warning, but with your own voice and sharpness. I especially loved the lines: "They traded favors steeped in charm / To steal away your youth.”
and
“once they steal your true name, / You’ll never find your home. "The imagery is vivid and creepy in the best way. The whispering branches, the fruit like rubied wine, and the laughter sharp as knives gave me proper chills. You nailed that seductive-but-dangerous fae feeling. The whole thing flows really well when read aloud, and the message at the end about questioning legends and magic still walking quietly is perfect. It feels complete and satisfying. The poem already stands strong as it is. Really well done. I’m impressed. Keep writing. This one deserves to be shared. Proud of you

I can smell damp moss in a cool yet humid forest with echoing songs faintly sung while the river trickles around and over protruding stone where the Fae play tricks on passersby the don't tell the truth somehow they also don't lie. Àye we enjoy your vivid descriptions
